Calling All Fishermen
For tourists with skill or a love of the game, fishing is one of Mexico’s greatest pastimes. In the fall of this year, many tournaments are coming up for both locals and visitors alike. The competitive and friendly atmosphere is perfect for both beginner and longtime fishers who would like to get to know Cabo San Lucas a little more personally.
On August second, Bisbee’s East Cape Fishing Tournament is kicking off the first of three incredible tournaments! As part of the Bisbee’s Bluewater Cup Series, the East Cape tournament is one of two opportunities to warm up for its bigger and badder sister, the Bisbee Black and Blue in October. Though Bisbee’s tournaments encourage all skill levels to enter, including children and families, this year will be the East Cape Tournament’s sixteenth anniversary, so the event is expected to be incredibly popular and the competition steep. The Black and Blue, one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, offers the chance to win millions by sacrificing an entry fee that will burn a decently-sized hole in your pocket.
For those who have had a successful day in the tournament and aren’t quite sure what to do with all that fish, we’ve got two incredible options for you. First, consider bringing your extra fish to Grizelda’s Smokehouse, and ask that it be donated to Feeding Los Cabos Kids or another charity of your choice. They will hold your fish until it can be picked up by the charity, but make sure to let them know you would like them to do so. This is an excellent way for visitors of Cabo San Lucas to contribute to the welfare and wellbeing of the place they are visiting.
The second option is Pueblo Bonito, as our kitchens will be happy to prepare a meal for you using your catch of the day. Whatever you choose, know Pueblo Bonito is a great home base for any participating in the tournament, and our beds are a great place to rest after an exciting day on the water.
