This season's activities in Los Cabos

November also officially kicks off several important ecological and water sport seasons in Los Cabos. Although tours don't officially start running until December 15, the whales have returned to Cabo in a big way! Breaching whales can be seen from the road, beaches and hotel balconies throughout the destination.

It is also the start of whale shark season; travelers can take a quick trip to La Paz to swim with these gentle giants. November is also the beginning of bird watching season at the estuary of San Jose del Cabo, giving travelers a number of eco-adventure options to select from when visiting. For diving enthusiasts, November offers some of the best scuba diving conditions of the year; the place to go is Cabo Pulmo, a national marine park located on the East Cape. Other water activities in season are surfing along the Pacific Coast of Baja (Cerritos and San Pedrito beaches) and kite surfing, which is popular in Los Barriles and La Ventana.

Looking for some "art therapy" on your next trip to Los Cabos? Every Thursday evening from November to June, San Jose del Cabo hosts an Art Walk where art galleries welcome guests to enjoy an evening stroll through the neighborhood while exploring a series of events including wine tastings, dinner and "meet and greets" with the artists. Galleries are open to the public year-round and feature work from acclaimed painters and sculptors including Sergio Garval, Luis Filcer, Jorge Marin and Mario Martin del Campo. Another weekly event in San Jose del Cabo is the Organic Farmer's Market, which takes place every Saturday from 9am to 3pm at La Huerta Maria in downtown San Jose del Cabo from November through May. To learn more about the market, please visit sanjomo.com.
