2015 EVENTS: LOS CABOS AND MAZATLAN

Jan-Mar WHALE WATCHING SEASON Cabo's coast is one of the most legendary whale watching spots in the world, and if you are visiting between January and March, you can't help but see the migrating gray and humpback whales offshore from the Pacific coast. The event begins at 12 noon on Saturdays with an art tour, featuring the exhibitions of 35 different artists. The art tour lasts from 12pm-11:00pm. At 5pm, the cultural workshops for children begin which teach painting, sculpture, arts and crafts and more. And finally, at 7pm menu tastings and drinks are available to round out the cultural experience!
Feb 8 LOS CABOS HALF MARATHON The Los Cabos Half Marathon offers 21.097 km of history and natural beauty. The route includes San Jose del Cabo's historical downtown, its hotel area and the Puerto Los Cabos Marina and is one the of the most scenic routes in Mexico. Beginning with evening parties and music on the 8th of March, the festival increases with carnivals and parades on weekends, culminating on March 19th. Food vendors are found throughout downtown, offering delicious items such as warm tamales and sugared pumpkin candies.
This three-event race is half the distance of the ironman race, and takes place when the weather is perfect for such endeavors. As the website describes it, you'll be: "Swimming at Land's End in turquoise colored water, cycling through one of the most scenic highways along with our winter guests, the majestic whales, and finishing the run in the historic San Jose downtown!" . Jan-May ART WALK MAZATLAN 1st Friday of Month A free, self guided tour though an approximate 10 block area in Mazatlan's Centro Historico. With more than 50 participating artists, the tour is a great activity for art enthusiasts and tourists alike. First Friday of the month, January through May, 4-8pm. Feb 12-17 CARNAVAL The 2015 Mazatlan Carnival will take place February 12-17th, and if you will be visiting Mazatlan during that time, you will not want to miss it. The Mardi Gras celebration will include parades, street performers and live music, fireworks and amazing food vendors. The event is set along the Malecón oceanfront promenade, and also throughout other locations in Mazatlan. Last year's Carnival was a huge success, with this year promising to be even better!
