A trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is not complete without a visit to the famous natural landmark, El Arco. This large, unique rock formation sits at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula and is but a short boat taxi ride away from Cabo's main beach, Playa El Medano. Also known as "The Arch" in English, El Arco is bordered by both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Around the corner is Playa del Amor, or Lover's Beach, a great place to lounge or explore after being dropped off at El Arco.
Take an El Arco Tour
If you're going to do some Cabo sightseeing, don't forget to include visiting El Arco on your schedule. You can take a boat taxi tour from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, or from Playa El Medano. The boat tour will take you out to El Arco so you can view it and the surrounding rock formations and wildlife. Make sure to stop at Lover's Beach (it is only accessible by boat) for a quick swim and sunbathing. To make it even more interesting, try looking for a ride in a glass-bottom boat so you can see the fish. Some tours also offer snorkeling and whale-watching around El Arco, and sunset cruises always make a point to go by it. Whichever method you choose to visit this beautiful landmark, it will definitely make your trip to Mexico one to remember!
