Exploring Los Cabos: The Four Regions

Los Cabos is more than just Cabo Wabo, it is actually comprised of four different areas - Cabo San Lucas, the Tourist Corridor, San Jose Del Cabo and East Cape. Cabo San Lucas is the main hub of tourist activity and the perfect blend of party and relax. It is also home to the popular El Medano beach, where lively bars and a myriad of water activities line the coast. Pueblo Bonito's Los Cabos hotels are all on the beach in Cabo San Lucas with two properties (Rose and Los Cabos) at the heart of El Medano's beach action, and two properties (Sunset Beach and Pacifica) farther down the coast and away from the bustle. Notable beach bars include The Office, Billigan's and Mango Deck. For a night of downtown dancing, try Zoo Bar, Mandala or the famous El Squid Roe. Cabo San Lucas' neighbor, San Jose del Cabo, is home to beautiful art galleries, the Glass Blowing Factory and other cultural must-sees. Make sure to visit the Cactimundo Los Cabos Botanical Garden. San Jose del Cabo is the capital of Los Cabos and is also where the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is located. The tourist corridor is a 30-mile stretch of road and beach between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Some of the most exclusive golf courses are located in the tourist corridor, along with gorgeous beaches perfect for snorkeling. Try visiting Chileno Beach or Playa Santa Maria. For a change from the resort atmosphere, head northeast out of San Jose and explore East Cape, or "Cabo del Este". This area of Los Cabos has a more rustic feel with dusty backroads and wilderness as its backdrop. Many deserted beaches are scattered throughout the East Cape area, along with excellent fishing spots. See if you can find Playa Anónima (Anonymous Beach), an unnamed beach with steep sand dunes that descend to the shoreline. To get there, take an unmarked turn-off towards the beach a fter about 4 miles from San José del Cabo - it's a little hard to find! If you prefer a picturesque white sand beach, visit Punta Colorada. Whatever kind of vacation you are looking for, Los Cabos has it! If you're staying at one of our Los Cabos hotels, make sure to catch a tour of San Jose del Cabo, breeze through the tourist corridor along the way, or even take a mini-trip over to East Cape.
