Yahoo!-Travel's Cabo San Lucas Overview
Check out Yahoo! Travel's page on Cabo San Lucas tourism and information. Their overview gives good examples of its maritime heritage and present day festivities.
Cabo San Lucas, at the southernmost tip of Baja, was once a base for pirate vessels waiting to pounce on Spanish treasure ships. Nearly fifteen years ago, it was little more than a fishing and canning village occasionally visited by adventurous sports fishermen. Since then, it has earned a reputation for the marlin that can be caught here, and the bay is now full of sleek, radar-equipped fishing yachts. It's more like an enclave of the US than part of Mexico, with almost all aspects of civilization geared to tourism - even a mammoth Wal-Mart has opened here, alongside Puerto Paraíso, an enormous mall on the marina, and future plans include an artificial island to sit in the bay, complete with restaurants and bars. Spending a day or two here can be fun; if you're looking to fish, dive or relax in luxury.
We're also very pleased that ALL four of our hotels have made it into the Top 10 for Yahoo! Travel user reviews, with Sunset Beach proudly at the #1 position, followed by the tranquil Pacifica Hotel and Spa, Rose and then Los Cabos. Currently, each of these hotels have exceptional sales and are giving away the $400.00 worth of coupon credits for our Bicentennial Celebration. The Sunset Beach Resort and Spa is offering a 50% off in addition to the Bicentennial Celebration Credit sale. To view the specials, click here.
