Los Cabos Tennis Open Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Scheduled for July 25 – August 1, the Los Cabos Tennis Open, also known as the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo, has grown by leaps and bounds since its debut in 2016. This annual tourney, Cabo’s most prominent sporting event, also ranks among Latin America’s top tennis competitions.

Several world-class professionals have committed to compete in this year’s ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tournament. Among them are three players who rank in the top 20 of the ATP’s standings: Czech Jiri Lehecka (No. 13), Russian Karen Khachanov (No. 15), and Briton Cameron Norrie (No. 19).

Also competing are Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo (No. 27); Spaniard Rafael Jódar (No. 34), a rising 19-year-old star; and Canadian Denis Shapovalov (No. 37), the defending champion and a fan favorite. These and other top-class players will compete in singles and doubles matches.

“For Mextenis, 2026 is a very special year as we celebrate a decade of effort and great tennis stories and achievements in Los Cabos,” said tournament director José Antonio Fernández. “It is a source of pride to see the evolution of this ATP 250 event, and therefore our focus remains on sporting quality.

“With this year’s squad, we aim to bring talented players to Mexico who have stood out with exceptional performances in the first quarter of the season, and we couldn’t be happier with these first players announced,” he added.

The Los Cabos Tennis Open is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series. The association’s tournaments showcase the world’s best tennis players in beautiful locations with the mission to inspire the next generation of players and fans.

As before, the Cabo Sports Complex (CSC) will be the venue for the tournament. Purpose-built for comfort and visibility, the CSC, located at the midpoint of the Tourist Corridor, is a multifunctional arena capable of hosting both sports and entertainment events. The spacious complex, featuring outdoor hard courts, connects with Cabo’s natural elements. Its rustic buildings are made of rammed earth, a durable material that blends with the colors and textures of the desert. Offering views of the desert and sea, the facility has seating for 3,500 in the main stadium and a secondary stadium with 1,000 seats. The CSC has added a new court with space for 250 fans this year as requested by the ATP and the players.

The Los Cabos Tennis Open offers an experience beyond sports. Music, entertainment, a food court, surprises from sponsors, and a festive closing show, when the courts become a dance floor, will be featured throughout the week.

For the qualifying rounds, entry is free for all families on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. Kids Nite, to be held on July 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., welcomes children to interact with the players. On July 26, MEXTENIS Talks will host panel discussions with renowned players, coaches, sports experts and other prominent tennis figures. Topics related to game strategy and player mindset are discussed, with personal anecdotes from the professional circuit shared.

Admission is free to two newcomers this year: GAMEZONE, a space for technological innovation and video games featuring TIEBREAK, the official ATP video game; and MEXTENIS Play Zone, a space containing mini tennis courts and family-friendly skill games.

Ticket sales for the 2026 Open will be exclusively digital through MEXTENIS Account Manager by Ticketmaster, a new platform where patrons can purchase digital tickets in a variety of categories. According to tournament organizers, digital tickets will make access to the tournament simpler, more efficient and more secure, with dynamic barcodes changing constantly to prevent counterfeiting.
