ABC Art Baja Returns to San José del Cabo
A beacon of creativity and culture, the ABC Art Baja festival will once again illuminate San José del Cabo with its vibrant array of artistic expressions. Renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural tapestry, San José del Cabo is a bustling hub of creativity throughout the year, showcasing the talents of resident artists and those from around the globe. Now, the city will host Art Baja exhibitions on three separate occasions (March 7-10, March 25-31, and April 29-May 5) during the festival’s run from March 7 through May 5.
At the heart of the festival's San José del Cabo edition is El Patio by Z®onamaco, an open-air venue that transforms into a dynamic space where art installations come to life in Puerto Los Cabos. This festival hub will serve as a communal area for artists and art lovers to gather, share, and experience thought-provoking installations, including the performance of Kite 4 by Laia Estruch, the Beach Labyrinth activation by artist Daniel Dugan, and the Bordando Sueños (Embroidering Dreams) activation by Adriana María Martinez, among other exhibits.
Additional artistic entries can be found thoughtfully placed throughout San José. From the charming historic district to the marina and the serene beachfront, many of the locations were selected for the art to engage with the landscape and create an ongoing dialogue.
Notable locations include Plaza Mijares, which is within walking distance from the gorgeous, handcrafted textiles of the txt.ure Showroom in the Plaza Central and the culinary delights of La Revolucion Comedor de Baja California, where cocktails have been elevated to high art. Additional outposts include the Dalton Gin Bar, Casa Musa, and more.
The festival’s commitment to creating a holistic cultural experience is evident in the inclusion of culinary pop-ups and music performances that complement the visual spectacle. These elements underscore its aim to celebrate not just art but the rich cultural fabric of Baja California Sur. As attendees navigate between more than two dozen exhibit locations, they are treated to a seamless fusion of art, culture, and community that captures the essence of this seaside town.
