Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende: What Guests Are Saying
Guest response to Pueblo Bonito’s stylish new hotel in San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Mexico’s central highlands, ranked the No. 1 City in the World by Travel + Leisure readers in the 2026 World’s Best Awards, has been overwhelmingly positive since its debut in January.
Favorable TripAdvisor reviews from satisfied guests have provided Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende with the positive testimonials confirming it’s offering the elevated experience that sophisticated travelers are seeking.
A guest posted about her June visit: “The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views of downtown San Miguel and the Parroquia. It's one of those places where you want to arrive early, relax, and simply take in the setting before dinner. LaFrida is the perfect complement to such a spectacular location. The food is exceptional, with a very creative menu that is both beautifully presented and full of flavor. In my opinion, it has quickly become one of the best restaurants in San Miguel. The service is equally outstanding. The entire staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on creating a memorable experience. Between the stunning setting, outstanding cuisine, and exceptional hospitality, it's an experience not to be missed.”
Another visitor also raved about La Frida: “From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally attentive and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They took the time to explain the origins of the locally sourced ingredients and the inspiration behind the menu, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was exquisite. After spending four days dining throughout San Miguel, this was, without question, our favorite meal. Every course was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The dessert deserves special mention—it was quite simply the best dessert we have ever had. What impressed us most was the level of commitment the entire team showed toward creating an outstanding guest experience.”
Guests haven’t been the only ones impressed with the newcomer. Media coverage has been very positive as well.
“The set-up here is far different than at the Pueblo Bonito resorts in beach areas, which are all-inclusive and focused on sun and fun,” Reported Timothy Scott at Luxury Latin America. “Pueblo Bonito Vantage is a la carte, more sedate, and more personalized, offering an array of tastings, experiences, and spa sessions.”
Scott also noted that the hotel’s “Aromatika Spa & Wellness building is large and inviting, with several relaxation areas…and different treatment rooms. We got to experience one of them for close to an hour during an invigorating couple's massage. We've both had enough spa massages to be jaded by now, but this one was excellent, and all our kinks and stress tensions were gone at the end.”
He concluded, “If you're into good food and wine and want a little quiet distance from the bustling (city) center, this newest property on the competitive San Miguel de Allende luxury hotel scene should go on your short list. It is at the same level as Live Aqua, Rosewood, and Matilda, but boasting better views than two of those, especially from the rooms, and with a personality all its own.”
Brandon Schultz of Global Traveler also took a liking to Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende.
“The property includes four hacienda-style buildings with a total of 111 rooms, and the design draws on colonial and Moorish influences with ochre tones of rojo San Miguel façades, curated textiles, and artisanal detailing reflecting San Miguel’s layered visual culture,” he stated. “Interiors maintain the same focus on craft with custom furniture and handmade ceramics, enhanced by integrated lighting and sound systems, reinforcing a sense of luxury without excess.” He added, “Room layouts keep the focus outward to take advantage of city vistas below the hotel’s hilltop perch.
“Take advantage of [the curated] experiences, connecting you to the destination throughout your stay,” Schultz advised. “Start with an easy guided walking tour to understand the city’s layout and cultural build, then expand from there with experiences tied to what interests you most. Take a cooking class in a local market or join a tequila tasting with a dose of history and myth-busting. To venture slightly further, book a sommelier-led tasting or plan a visit to nearby vineyards where you can tour, taste, and even create your own blend. A complimentary shuttle takes you to the city’s core daily, so you’re just as free to explore on your own.”
Finally, Schultz noted that the hotel’s pet program “includes a stay in a garden-level room or suite with the easiest access to the outdoors. An in-room bed and toy set up on arrival accompany food and water bowls, and some surprise welcome moments. Choose from multiple entrée options on the thoughtful dog menu, available both in-room and at outdoor dining venues, or arrange morning and evening walks in the adjacent park with specially trained staff. Among the property’s top four-legged offerings, book an affordable pet massage treatment complete with chromotherapy, sound bathing, and energy work. Cat guests are also welcome at Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende, where no one is left out of a luxurious experience in one of Mexico’s most rewarding destinations.”
