“This Is Michael” Comes to Quivira Golf Club

December in Los Cabos has a glow of its own, and on the 11th, we have a lovely way to spend it. The Letty Coppel Foundation presents This Is Michael, a live tribute to Michael Jackson, at Quivira Golf Club. It is an easy evening to say yes to: music you know by heart, an open-air venue above the Pacific, and a cocktail in hand.

The foundation behind the night is close to home for us. Letty Coppel founded it in 2004, and it is funded through private donations to improve life in Los Cabos and Mazatlán, with work in health, social care, education, and local culture. Its Los Cabos Social Assistance Center opened in 2021, and its mobile medical units serve the region, the first of their kind in Baja California Sur. Pueblo Bonito Resorts supports the foundation through the Every Stay Gives Back program, a program which allows guests to get involved.

Leading the musical production is Lenny Jay, whose voice and movement have drawn praise from the Jackson family. This Is Michael has been presented in more than 15 countries and is billed as the Michael Jackson production with the most tickets sold worldwide. The band is part of the draw too, since the organizers describe it as the only show of its kind with original musicians who played with Michael Jackson himself. Everything happens live, with singing, dancing, choreography, costumes, lighting, and visuals working together.

Quivira Golf Club is a fitting stage. It overlooks the Pacific and is best known for its golf course, but it has also hosted concerts by Matute and Miguel Bosé, along with editions of the Sabor a Cabo festival. Doors open at 5:30 PM, which leaves time to settle in with food and drinks (available for purchase) as the light changes over the water. The show begins at 8:00 PM. Parking is free, and the evening is family friendly, though children under 18 need a full ticket.

For the best seats in the house, VIP Premium and VIP Preferred are tables for 10, priced per person at $3,500 and $3,000 MXN. Each table includes two bottles of liquor, which makes them a nice choice for a group of friends or a family celebrating the season. Platinum offers individual seating at $1,500 MXN, and general admission is standing at $1,000 MXN. Prices do not include booking fees, and tickets are
available through Kboletos.
