I am interested in booking my wedding at Pueblo Bonito, what should I do?
Complete our online RFP form to receive wedding information based on your selected resort. We will need to know the property you are interested in, your preferred date (or preferred month) and your estimated number of guests. You will need to make a non-refulndable and non-transferable deposit to confirm your date.
What are the legal requirements for getting married in Mexico?
Legal marriages in Mexico are performed only by the judge of the Civil Registry, usually at the offices of the Civil Registry, but the judge is also able to marry you at Pueblo Bonito Resorts. (Appointments should be scheduled in advance and are subject to judge's availability).
The Civil Ceremony changes your marital status from single to married. Your proof of marriage is recognized as legal throughout the world. Legal ceremonies are performed in Spanish and can be translated by your wedding coordinator, a family member, a friend or by a special translator.
The Civil Ceremony with the judge and translation is approximately 10 minutes (the judge read one paragraph in Spanish followed by the translator in English). The ceremony can be between 15 to 20 minutes from the processional to the recessional, depending on whether you confirm a musician/singer, have other family members or friends participate in the ceremony and other such variables.
These wedding vows are set by the State and cannot be changed. This can be compared to a ceremony performed by the Justice of the Peace in the United States or Canada. After the ceremony you will receive an original of the marriage certificate.
What documents do I need to get married in Mexico?
An application form for the marriage must be filled out in Spanish and delivered to the Civil Registry office three labor days before the day of the wedding. You need to provide the following documents to the Civil Registry three labor days before the wedding.
- Both the bride and groom must provide a copy of his and her birth certificate.
- A blood test and health certificates must be performed in Mexico three days prior to the wedding day. (Your Wedding Coordinator will arrange this for you)
- Bride and groom must each provide a copy of a valid passport.
- Bride and groom must each provide a copy of their tourist card.
- You will need four witnesses who must be present at the ceremony. Please provide a copy of their photo ID three labor days before your wedding date. Witnesses could be parents, friends or relatives over 18 years old.
- Previous spouses must provide a copy of their divorce decree or death certificate.
How many days in advance can we start planning our wedding at Pueblo Bonito?
Your wedding should be reserved as soon as possible. There is a very high demand for our resorts due to our exceptional service, attention to detail and unique venues. Dates and venues are often booked more than a year in advance. Please note that spring months (April, May, June) and autumn months (October, November, December) are quite busy and will require a longer lead time to secure a date. Please plan 8-18 months in advance for these busier seasons.
Is my wedding date confirmed if I am already in touch with a wedding specialist?
No, your wedding date will be confirmed once the resort receives a deposit. Once formal conversations take place and a preliminary contract is issued, the resort will hold the date on tentative basis for up to 8 days. We then require the initial deposit to consider the wedding date as officially confirmed.
How many days do we need to arrive prior to the ceremony?
It is highly recommended that you arrive at least 4 days before your wedding. Typically, you need to meet with your coordinator to check final details, and they will need at least two full days to guarantee that last minute changes can be applied. One day before your wedding, your coordinator will be focused on checking that everything planned has been taken care of, and it will be difficult to make new changes.
Why should I choose Pueblo Bonito for my wedding?

What is a Symbolic Ceremony?
The non-denominational or symbolic ceremonies do not change your marital status. This ceremony can be romantic or spiritual. No special documentation or blood tests are required. This type of ceremony is performed in English by a Minister or other officiant, and lasts from 15 to 20 minutes, from the processional to the recessional. It can be extended if you confirm a musician/singer, rituals, have other family members or friends participate in the ceremony, or other such variables. For a non-denominational ceremony, you may participate in the creation or enhancement of your wedding vows or you may choose from some of the officiant's favorites. You may alter or embellish these vows in any way you like.
Do you have a chapel?
At Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, we have a gorgeous chapel. The chapel has a capacity of up to 80 guests indoors and 50 outdoors. Any type of symbolic ceremony can take place in this venue. Please note that this venue is authorized by the Catholic Church to perform ceremonies.
Do we need a ceremony rehearsal or meeting prior to the ceremony, and is there a fee for this?
This can be arranged by a family member, friend or by yourselves in order to save some money. Should you want this service arranged by your wedding coordinator, it will last 30 minutes and the fee is $150 USD. Rehearsals can only be organized by the hotel for the Fire Wedding Package.
Can we get married on holidays?
Holidays and/or blackout dates have some restrictions since not all the vendors/services involved are available. Please verify with your wedding coordinator.
What is the best time to start a sunset ceremony?
It is highly recommended that you schedule your ceremony or 1½ or 2 hours before the sunset, so that your photographer is able to capture the perfect lighting and take unforgettable pictures. This ensures that there is enough time for the ceremony as well as for pictures afterwards.
Important: Please note that some venues and packages are not offered for small wedding ceremonies during sunset. However, you are welcome to schedule a private session with your photographer to take sunset photos.
We are looking for a ceremony that would occur overlooking the water, not on the sand. Is this something that Pueblo Bonita would be able to provide?
Of course! We offer a nice variety of ocean-view terraces, gardens, and other venues that can be used for this purpose.
Do you have a back-up plan in case of bad weather?
In case of unfavorable weather conditions for an outdoor ceremony, your ceremony will be moved to an indoor location.
Do I have to purchase one of your wedding packages?
Yes. Our wedding packages for all-inclusive groups are available for all types of weddings - from simple ceremonies for two to highly sophisticated events for very large groups. You can select which wedding package best suits your needs and budget, knowing that our professional wedding planners will work closely with you to ensure that your special wedding day is just perfect.
Please remember the following when selecting a Wedding Package:
- These packages can also be booked for renewal of vows ceremonies.
- Wedding packages are not combinable.
- Certain packages do have special restrictions regarding venues and times.
- If attendees are not all-inclusive guests of the resort where the wedding is taking place, or are not staying on property, an additional fee will apply.
- The items and services listed are not interchangeable with other inclusions; no cash refunds or credits apply for un-used items/services, however the client can enhance and personalize the wedding package by adding other services.
- In case of cancellations, refunds do not apply as per the letter of agreement.
- Wedding packages do not include hotel accommodations, however, special group room rates and benefits for bride and groom and attendees are available when contracting a minimum of ten rooms for three nights, or 30 room nights in total.
- By no means can the hotel honor specials if the deadline has expired and promotions are not combinable.
Are the packages the same for all of the resorts?
Our Cabo San Lucas properties offer identical wedding packages. In Mazatlan, our resorts offer distinctive, individual packages.
Can I customize my package?
Yes, you are able to add services and enhancements in order to plan your dream wedding. Explore the options in the Wedding Enhancements section of our website.
Does the resort provide the wedding cake and is this included in my package?
Yes, our acclaimed pastry chef can create a traditional one- or two-tiered wedding cake and this is typically included in your package. Vanilla or chocolate cakes are included and can be filled with chocolate cream, vanilla cream or strawberries. Additional flavors and tiers may be available with an extra fee. You can personalize your cake by adding fresh flowers (additional cost applies) or bringing your own topper. Groom's cake is not included but can be quoted separately.
What if I don't want a wedding cake?
If you are not interested in a traditional wedding cake, a different dessert can be served or you can order special items, for example cupcake towers, dessert tables or candy tables (additional fees apply for special orders).
Does the resort provide hair and make-up for the bride and bridesmaids?
Hair and make-up services are provided by professional and experienced spa and salon staff. Some of the wedding packages include some of these services for the bride. For services that are not included, please check with your coordinator for the applicable discount for groups.
Should I contract an external wedding coordinator?
All of our packages include the services of a professional wedding coordinator, certified by specialized institutions such as Beverly Clark. Their services include on-site coordination on your wedding day, all meetings with you and comprehensive planning for the wedding. If you would still like to contract an external wedding coordinator, let us know and we will provide you with recommendations.
Do I have to visit the resort and meet with my coordinator a few months before my wedding?
Most of our weddings are successfully planned and performed without an advance visit from the bride and groom. However, once the wedding is confirmed, we would be happy to coordinate meetings with suppliers/vendors, organize a tasting menu and/or walk around the venues with you if you decide to visit before your wedding. A discount on the public room rate can be applied, depending on the season, for up to three nights of your visit (1 room for 2 people). Blackout dates apply.
Must my guests stay at your property?
Destination weddings are about more than just a single event, they are about an entire experience. Guests usually prefer to be at the same property since in most cases they know each other; it is the perfect occasion to have a real celebration, enjoy group activities, related events such as rehearsal dinners, bridal brunches and welcome parties. Additionally, a discounted group rate, plus additional perks and discounts, are offered to the group. However, if for any particular reason you have guests staying off-property (including lack of availability at your resort), they will have access to your party when pre-registered on your guest list. Please check our wedding packages for external guest fees.
I love Pueblo Bonito Pacifica for my wedding, but some of my guests will bring children. What can be done in this case since the resort is an adults-only resort?
Guests with children may stay at our sister property Pueblo Bonito Sunset, which is next to the Pacifica resort. A special rate, as well as the group benefits, will apply for these guests, and the wedding package fees for external guests will not apply. Children will be allowed to attend private ceremonies and receptions at Pacifica for weddings that have booked the Fire Wedding Package. Children will only be allowed at the resort during the time-frame scheduled for the event.
Do we get a special price in certain seasons or days of the week?
Package prices are the same year-round, except for in the month of September, where a 5% discount is offered. Weddings taking place on a Wednesday can also get an additional 5% off. Please review the comments on each package in order to check applicable restrictions - some packages apply only for certain days and/or times.
If I purchased the Fire Wedding Package, how much will it cost to extend the length of the reception?
It will depend on the start time you selected. There will be a fee to extend the time past the four hours included for the cocktail and reception. There will also be an additional fee if the extension causes your event to go past 11:00 pm. Please note that only certain venues permit music past 11:00pm.
If I do not purchase the Fire Wedding Package, can I still have a private dinner/dancing?
The Fire Wedding package is the only package that includes a private reception. Should you decide to contract this separately, it would not be convenient for you in terms of pricing.
Can I have private entertainment/music/dancing if I purchase the Wind Package?
The dinner included in this package will take place in one of our restaurants, so in order to respect the other guests that will also be dining in the restaurant, it is not possible to have entertainment/dancing.
How late are we allowed to dance/celebrate at the reception?
On the beach at Pueblo Bonito Pacific and Sunset, events can take place until 3:00 am with an applicable surcharge for extensions. At the Sky Pool at Pueblo Bonito Sunset, events can run until 1:00 am. At all other venues, all live music must end at 11:00 pm (no exceptions).
Does the resort allow sparklers to be lit during the exit of the bride and groom?
Yes. Please note that the hotel security procedure must be followed.
Can we have fireworks and wish lamps?
Yes, however, these are only permitted on the beach areas.
Can we use an outside caterer?
Due to licensing requirements and quality control issues, all food and beverages must be provided by the hotel, with the exception of the wedding cake. Additionally, no food or beverages may be removed from the event areas at any time prior to, during, or after the event.
Can I design my own menu?
Of course. Our chef and expert coordinator will help you with this. You may fully design the menu or you may make changes and upgrades to existing menus. Enhancements and upgrades will be subject to an extra fee.
Some of the options you may add or use to create your own spectacular menu include: surf and turf options, additional courses, chocolate fountains, dessert tables, candy tables, cupcake towers, bonfire with s'mores, or anything else you have in mind, as long as is planned in time.
What is included in my open bar?
At Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, a great selection of domestic brands are included. At Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, international brands are offered. It is possible to upgrade your bar. For more specific details and prices, please contact your coordinator.
What are my options if I want to offer a Rehearsal Dinner?
Your wedding planner can coordinate a variety of options: a dinner in a reserved area at a restaurant (please note that this option only allows a max. of 30 people), a private dinner, bonfires on the beach, tequila tastings, theme nights, etc. You can also get discounts on private rehearsal dinners when contracting your wedding with the Fire Wedding Package.
If we decide to make customized décor for the wedding ceremony or reception, is that allowed under our wedding contract?
Some specific décor can be brought from your country, such as party favors, personalized candles, printed menus, place cards, ceremony readings, and cake toppers. We invite you to check with your coordinator in advance to get information on local or domestic options in order to avoid customs delays and unexpected taxes. Your coordinator will put you in touch with the best local companies that specialize in weddings where you can find any type of ceremony and banquet décor, including crystals, chargers, special linens, napkins & runners, color glassware, chairs, centerpieces, lamps, etc.
Do you have a list of additional services, entertainment and rentals in case I would like to enhance my event?
Absolutely. Your wedding coordinator will be happy to assist you in customizing your wedding ceremony.
When do I need to confirm my selections for music, flowers and menu?
As soon as you have decided on the choices for music, flowers, menus, etc, please contact your wedding coordinator so we are able to secure your preferences. All decisions need to be finalized a minimum of thirty days in advance of the wedding date, including all reception or dinner details. Before those 30 days, you are free to apply changes (i.e. remove or add services) to the contract; the hotel will consider your most recently signed event order as the current contract. Again, this document must be signed 30 days before the wedding. The hotel will not apply any charges if cancellations occur at least 21 days before your wedding.
When do I need to provide the final guest guarantee for my events?
You will need to provide this at least 30 days before your wedding. After this date, you are free to apply a reduction equal to 20%, and you will have up to 72 hours before your wedding to confirm this reduction. If you apply reductions higher than 20% or if the written confirmation is submitted less than 72 hours before the wedding, then the hotel will charge accordingly.
Is the resort's Bride and Groom Suite included in my Wedding Package?
The wedding packages do not include hotel accommodations for the bride and groom and/or for guests. However, we offer preferred room rates and special benefits for you during your stay. There will also be benefits that apply for your guests. Reserved rooms will be available with a guaranteed special rate for your guests to book until a certain date.
Please note that when confirming your wedding or when confirming your room block, your room is not booked automatically. It is necessary to follow the regular procedure to book, just as any other guest would need to do. If necessary, you may ask for assistance from your coordinator.
Do I have to contract a block of rooms to get a wedding package?
Since our wedding packages are created for all-inclusive, on-property guests, it is very important to check room availability and secure a block of rooms before you select a wedding date. This way, we can guarantee that the resort will have a room at a preferred rate for all of your expected guests and that your wedding package price will not increase for having external guests.
What is the reservation procedure my guests should follow if I have a block of rooms?
A Reservation Manual is prepared specially for your group, indicating a group code (this is usually the groom's last name, as long as is shorter than 8 characters). This form includes all necessary information for your guests such as rates, payment and cancellation policies and benefits. Guests can reserve either through our toll-free number by providing the group code, as indicated in the form, or by simply reserving online using the personalized link included in the form. Hotel + Air packages must be purchased through this link.
Does your resort offer flight discounts?
Your guests can get very attractive Hotel + Air packages when reserving through the personalized link included in your manual. For more information about this reservation method, please contact us directly. Please note that we do not have control over the flight prices or information.
Do I need to use the services of a travel agent?
No. You and your guests will be offered the group discounts and related benefits, whether or not you choose to use the services of a travel agent. You will also be able to purchase Hotel + Air packages on our website, through links provided by your coordinator specifically for this purpose. Additionally, your group coordinator will send you frequent reports showing the list of guests and the remaining available rooms, in order to guarantee an efficient control of your room's inventory.
Can the rooms of my group be assigned to the same tower or area?
The resort team will work with you to meet these requirements. Room locations are subject to availability and are assigned by our front desk staff 24 hours before the group arrival.
What are the benefits when contracting a block of rooms for my guests?
Concessions will vary depending on the number of contracted rooms, but in general, they will likely include the following for the bride and groom:
- Priority to select ceremony time (depending on selected wedding package). The highest demand is for ceremonies that occur during the sunset; couples with priority are allowed to choose their event time first. Groups without a room block will not be able to book ceremonies that start after 3:00 pm.
- Preference in locations for reception (if applicable)
- Upgraded room for up to five nights for bride and groom
- Amenity in room on your wedding night
- Wedding packages at reduced rates
- Location fees waived
- Discount on spa treatments
- Free room nights during your wedding
- Free Nights for your First Anniversary
- Discount on décor
- Discount on audio-visual
- Promotional room rates for your site inspections (please verify that you qualify for this benefit; smaller events may not qualify for these rates)
- Discount on Tee Times at the new Quivira Golf Course (scheduled to open Late Spring 2014)
What are the activities available for guests during our stay?
Our properties offer scheduled activities at the resorts from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Should you or your guests like to participate in these activities or in activities offered by external companies (for example, a Swim with the Dolphins Experience), our Concierge department will be happy to assist you at the resort. You may also ask your wedding coordinator for recommendations or to get group discounts for external activities and excursions.
What does "All-Inclusive" mean for our guests during their stay at the resort?
Our all-inclusive plan includes:
- Hotel accommodations
- All food and beverage at the restaurants and bars at your resort and the participating restaurants and bars at our sister resorts
- On-site, outdoor activities
- Taxes and gratuities
- Complimentary Internet in public areas at all of the properties. At Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, high-speed Internet in the rooms is also included.
Is the All-Inclusive plan a good option for my guests and convenient for my budget?
Guests usually prefer the All-Inclusive Plan, since they do not have to worry about watching their budget during their stay. Because of the variety of activities, restaurants and bars that our resorts offer, the All-Inclusive Plan can provide for a wonderful and complete holiday, included in one "set" budget. Additionally, if your wedding agenda includes a private event not included in the original wedding package (rehearsal dinner, welcome party, brunch, etc), the all-inclusive plan will dramatically reduce the cost of these private events. Without the meal plan, your guests would be charged in full for their meal and beverages.
Do you offer same-sex wedding packages?
Yes. Please add a note that in the comments section that you would like information about our same-sex Wedding Packages when you submit your request for the ceremony date. Or you may also contact us directly for information.
What types of flowers are available in the destination?
The Wedding Packages include gorgeous arrangements with fresh, seasonal flowers. Some examples of the flower options included are roses, lilies, calla lilies, stargazers, gerbera daisies, sunflowers, carnations, mums, daisies, alstromeria, ginger, and green hydrangeas.
Orchids, tulips, freesias, peonies and other imported flowers can be added with an applicable surcharge. Please note that in our destination, flowers do not grow locally and have to be brought in from other cities. Therefore, the flowers must be confirmed at least 45 days in advance.
