Pueblo Bonito: A Magical Haven for Turtle Hatchlings
Pueblo Bonito’s reputation for superior service extends across the globe and even across species. Each year in June and July, the shores of Los Cabos are thronged by turtles, including Loggerhead, Black, Leatherback, and Olive Ridley, as they return to our tropical paradise to mate and make their nests. We take our responsibility toward these endangered species very seriously, which is why we’ve long spearheaded conservation efforts through the Turtle Protection and Release Program. Our expert scientists take steps to ensure the nests are protected from all threats, whether animal or human, until the turtles are ready to hatch. If you’re with us during one of the hatchings (they take place from September to mid-December), you’re in for a real treat.Inquire with your concierge for a chance to jointhe conservation team as they release the hatchlings from their protected enclosures, and learn about the many precautions we take to ensure these astonishing young creatures complete the perilous journey from shore to sea.
